Because Bradford Cathedral is on a hill , the parking outside & nearby car park may be unsuitable for any wheelchair accessible vehicles . parking slightly further away , more suitable parking was found . coming into the grounds it was very pleasant & well kept . Help soon appeared to ensure both the doors were opened to ease access.
The first impressions are how beautiful it is. The impact of the stained glass windows & of the atmosphere, So peaceful . Displays & lots information are dotted around & as you get further round a lovely bonus is that ramps are in place to access areas at either side, at the back, which is great, that in buildings of this age ways round access are being found. another part of the display are headphones . This enabled you to listen to the Cathedral Bells with info & fun thrown in .
There is some garden space away from the main doors but as this wasn't 100% wheelchair accessible i ignored this area & concentrated on the building .
During the 14th century the church was re-built & some of the oldest parts completed in 1458. various parts added over time before achieving Cathedral status in 1919. various extensions & other works were added until you see the building we have now , (some information of history taken from Wikipedia. )
