Bolton Abbey Priory Church:-
A lovely visit to Bolton Abbey Priory which was yet again another great adventure day out with my partner in crime (Alison). They do have a wheelchair accessible road leading to the priory as the other side has a lot of stairs as shown above. The full title is "The Priory Church of St Mary of St Cuthbert, Bolton Abbey". It is a beautiful building with so much history to it which makes it even more interesting. This is a grade 1 listed Parish Church in North Yorkshire Bolton Abbey England. There is parking which cost £10 for the whole day and can be used used for the 3 car parks which is great for anyone with mobility issues, to help you get around Bolton Abbey.

History:-
Bolton Priory is one of the finest medieval churches in the north of England. Since its foundation in the twelfth century, it has been a site of continuous christian worship, surviving Scottish raids, the Black Death, the Dissolution of the Monasteries and the religious turbulence of later centuries, men and women have been baptised, have married, have worshipped and have been buried within these precincts. Untold numbers from within the parish and far beyond have come here to feel God's presence and prayer.

Inside the Priory Church

The Priory Church:-
A beautiful historic building. It was a quick in and out as there was about to be a funeral taking place. They were very welcoming and the people there were nice too. This is a christian worship place. As soon as you enter on your left and right side you will see the lovely stained glass windows. It would of been a great shot if the sun was shining through but unfortunately it was a cloudy day. There is a traditional Victorian pipe organ being played with nice music inside the church, as you can see in the picture below a stunning piece of instrument. Please show some respect when their is a service going on Thank you.

 Priory Ruins:-
Bolton Abbey Priory church and ruins is a well kept place, you can see how much care and hard work has been put in. There are accessible places to get around and some quite not. It's a great place for picnics, and for families. Its a great place to go for a long walk well in our case a long stroll around the beautiful grounds of  the church, ruins and the Stepping Stones and so much too see. There are Cafes, gift shops and disabled toilets in one place. You can also hire scooters out but you will have to ring up ahead first just in case they are already booked. There is so much to be seen.

The river wharfe looking over the beautiful Priory. You have the stepping stones for able bodies only and then there is a bridge next to it but unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible but still so much to see and explore I have visited twice and still have not seen it all.
