Minibus and Community Car Service.

My Experience: -

Me and my son who is 2 years old was getting picked up by Community Transport Calderdale to go to Shibden Park. We were greeted by 2 amazing guys called Steve (driver) and Chris, at first before meeting them I was so nervous thinking how will I juggle my wheelchair, little ones car seat and pushchair in their minibus but thankfully they were so welcoming and helpful that I actually forgot I was nervous to begin with. We did have a problem with getting the baby seat in which I felt so bad for them both who tried their best to fit it in but unfortunately they make these baby seats so confusing and hard, even I couldn't explain properly how to do it so I was just as bad. So after their hard effort fighting with it I had to ask my brother  in-law to come down and fit it in because I can't fit it in myself  as it is too heavy and fiddley , so its my twin sister and brother in-law who usually do it. Hats off to them both though who didn't give up. We finally set off and we all had a lovely chat all the way going and coming back too. They were so caring, helpful and funny yes I said it they were funny like the saying goes "Laughter is the best medicine" which is so true otherwise life would be boring. would I use their service again? "Yes Definitely" I would highly recommend this company.

Community Transport Calderdale
(Minibus)

Minibus:-

This is the minibus I went in which was absolutely great. This is fully wheelchair accessible it has a lift at the back and then as you enter your chair is belted down properly. It is a 12 seater minibus or 4 can be seated and 3 wheelchairs can be safely transported.

Covid 19 Notice:-

They are still operating - a full range of services with extensive Covid 19 safety measures in place, including vaccinated drivers. As lockdown is reduced they are looking forward to being able to do more.

They Still Need Drivers - They are still looking for volunteer drivers especially in the Halifax area, to be able to cope with the increased demand they expect in the next few months.

Community Transport has been working hard to help the community deal with the difficulties of the last year. they have largely been taking people to and from hospital appointments and vaccinations. Things are changing and they are getting ready to take more people and groups out more. The demand for car trips is increasing and some groups are planning trips, hopefully things are getting back to normal.
